Raised overseas, Annie was exposed to food and it’s role in varying cultures at a young age. Her close relationship with observing and preparing food is what initially turned her way from food photography while studying at San Francisco's Academy of the Arts. Annie explained giving in to the inevitable in an interview, “It was an instantaneous fit! I immediately knew I had found what I was meant to do. It felt like coming home. I had found my place. I had found me.”
Annie does all of her own food styling and lighting and her prior experience as a chef is evident in her work. Her culinary expertise, combined with clean compositional elements and simplicity, give her images a beautiful fine art look and feel all their own. She has spent the last year acting as in-house Creative Director and Photographer for the San Francisco based meal delivery service, Munchery; completely rebranding their web site and establishing an elevated feel to their online marketplace.
